How I Got Started with Collage Art: My Journey Between Science and Art...
About ten years ago, I never imagined that collage art would become such an important part of my life.
My career path doesn't begin in the traditional art world. I have a scientific background: I graduated in Biology. Yet, alongside this background, there has always been a strong and abiding passion for art and visual communication.
Over the years, this passion has also become a job: I worked for a long time as a graphic designer, developing a careful eye for images, composition, and visual meaning.
But I felt that something was missing: a freer, more instinctive, more personal space.
The first artistic collage: from Valentina to personal expression
It was at that moment that I began experimenting with paper, scraps and different materials.
The first collage I made was simple, but already deeply connected to me. It was born from my passion for comics and in particular from the imagery of Valentina di Crepax, an iconic, elegant, and timeless figure.
That first work wasn't meant to be shown or sold. It was a spontaneous gesture, a way to give form to something I couldn't express in words.

Why I chose collage art
The artistic collage immediately struck me for its freedom.
Cutting, gluing, reassembling: every gesture had a liberating feel. Simple materials, often recycled, were transformed into something new.
Without realizing it, I was already building an idea that is central to my work today: giving new life to what already exists.
In collage I found an authentic language, capable of uniting aesthetics, memory, and transformation.
From graphic design to contemporary art
My background in science and graphics continues to influence my artistic work.
On the one hand, I bring structure, precision, and method. On the other, in collage, I find freedom, experimentation, and instinct.
Over the years, I have developed a personal style in contemporary art, working on images, faces, and compositions that tell visual stories.
My journey today as a collage artist
Today, artistic collage has become my main language.
Through my work, I express emotions, identities, and contemporary visions. Each piece is born from research, but always leaves room for the unexpected.
I continue to experiment, evolve, and transform—just like that first collage.
